2021 Blanket – week 5

It’s that time of year again, where we are desperately searching for the first signs of spring and for me it came in the form of the first bunch of daffodils of the season. A joyful gift from my parents that I have loved looking at all week long and have slipped into my photos for week 5 of 2021 crochet blanket. Unfortunately, the weather has not reflected the sunshine yellow of the daffs and we have seen lots of rain, and even snow, again. It means that the photos this week have been a bit darker than usual because I haven’t been blessed with good natural light. The weather looks set to continue with a lot of snow next week, so I will be looking forward to snuggling up with the next few rounds and keeping in mind that soon it will be full on daffodil season.

Pattern notes

The pattern is written using UK terminology, for a conversion chart to US terminology click this link

The blanket is worked in the round. You do not need to turn your work after each row and you continue working in the same direction as before.

[Stitches written in brackets like this are all worked into the same stitch.]

For the first stitch on each row: Chain 1 to move up to the next round if the round starts with double crochet. Chain 2 if the round starts with a half treble crochet, and chain 3 if the round starts with a treble crochet. These chains count as the first stitch in the row
