V-Stitch Square
July marks the half way point in the 2023 blanket. We have now crocheted 12 squares in 6 designs. So the July square is the 7th design! I am already looking forward to joining all the squares into a blanket, but I will have to wait until December:)
Size. Approx. 9 by 9 inch (22.5 cm)
Hope that you enjoy crocheting the V-stitch July square.
LET’S STAY IN TOUCH
July is another geometric square. You will need to make two for the blanket. Why not make one pink and one purple themed square?

Pattern notes
The pattern is written using UK terminology, for a conversion chart to US terminology click this link.
The squares are worked in the round. You do not need to turn your work after each row and you continue working in the same direction as before.
[Stitches written in brackets like this are all worked into the same stitch.]
For the first stitch on each row: Chain 1 to move up to the next round if the round starts with double crochet. Chain 2 if the round starts with a half treble crochet, and chain 3 if the round starts with a treble crochet. These chains count as the first stitch in the row
Special stitches
Ch – chain
Dc – double crocher
Mc – magic circle
Tr – treble
V-stitch is worked by working 1tr, ch1, 1tr into the same stitch or the same space.

Note: This square will crinkle as you work, but ironing or blocking it will smoothe it out so that it fits the rest of the blanket.
