Spring has been progressing well in my garden this week and that in turn has been influencing my crochet. I have had so much fun creating and designing some Easter baubles inspired by the garden plants this week. The pattern is not quite perfected yet, but rest assured you will be able to access it here once it is written up and all the stitches add up correctly. There is a sneak peak of the bauble in the photos below:)
It was also nice to revisit an old pattern this week. The succulent mini scatter cushion, which I designed and made in January this year, is featuring in this month’s issue of Simply Crochet. It is always a thrill to see my designs in a magazine in a beautiful photo shoot. I have not had much luck growing my own succulents, which gives me double the joy with this cushion.
And of course I still had time to add a couple of rounds to 2021 crochet blanket. They are a couple of simple rounds, which I have really enjoyed relaxing with this week.

The blanket is worked in the round. You do not need to turn your work after each row and you continue working in the same direction as before.
[Stitches written in brackets like this are all worked into the same stitch.]
For the first stitch on each row: Chain 1 to move up to the next round if the round starts with double crochet. Chain 2 if the round starts with a half treble crochet, and chain 3 if the round starts with a treble crochet. These chains count as the first stitch in the row
Special stitches
Ch – chain
Dc – Double crochet
Htr – half treble
Tr – treble
