Head
1st round: You are now working into the opening at the top of the body. Chain 1, dc in each stitch in the opening (10).
2nd round: [1dc, inc] x 5 (15).
3rd round: [2dc, inc] x 5 (20).
4th round: dc around (20).
5th round: dc around (20).
If you are using safety eyes, add them between the 4th and 5th rounds. Otherwise place stitch markers here so that you can sew in the eyes when you are finished crocheting.
6th round: [2 dc, dec] x 5 (15).
7th round: [1dc, dec] x5 (10).
8th round: dc around (10).
9th round: [dec] x 5. Cut of thread leaving a long tail, sew the final five stitches together but do not fasten off thread.

I love your chick . Can I leave it open at the bottom to put an Easter egg

Hello Peggy,
Yes, the chick is designed so that you can put a chocolate egg in it. Happy crocheting!
