Goodness, the year is whizzing by! I can barely believe that it is now Autumn and that I am still keeping up with this blanket. The start of the year and first rounds feels so long ago now. But I am still enjoying this adventure of designing the next stage of the blanket every week and hoping that you are too.
I have also been brushing up my calligraphy skills this week so that I can make some place names for my sister’s upcoming wedding. It is such fun especially with the shiny ink. It is also providing a great contrast to my crochet, which I find I am doing more and more for relaxation purposes.
This week, I we are working on some contrast stitches to make the star stitch really pop!

The blanket is worked in the round. You do not need to turn your work after each row and you continue working in the same direction as before.
[Stitches written in brackets like this are all worked into the same stitch.]
For the first stitch on each row: Chain 1 to move up to the next round if the round starts with double crochet. Chain 2 if the round starts with a half treble crochet, and chain 3 if the round starts with a treble crochet. These chains count as the first stitch in the row
Special stitches
Ch – chain
Dc – double crochet
Htr – half treble
Ss – slip stitch
