Spring is in the air – 2021 Crochet Blanket

The corner crochet pieces got a bit of a wiggle on and grew rather a lot this week. After last week being so busy at a work and just doing two rows, it was great to have some more time to crochet and experiment a bit more – so there are six rows this week! Hooray!

After the snow and few rainy days, the garden has started to come into its own again. As well as crocheting I have been able to dedicate some time to the garden and have loved working along the crocuses and daffodils that are coming into bloom. I think the yellow and purple flowers have influenced my colour choices this week too.

This week,  I have expanded the corner pieces outwards in Orchid, while adding some fancy embelishments in Sunshine yellow.

Pattern notes

The pattern is written using UK terminology, for a conversion chart to US terminology click this link

The blanket is worked in the round. You do not need to turn your work after each row and you continue working in the same direction as before.

[Stitches written in brackets like this are all worked into the same stitch.]

For the first stitch on each row: Chain 1 to move up to the next round if the round starts with double crochet. Chain 2 if the round starts with a half treble crochet, and chain 3 if the round starts with a treble crochet. These chains count as the first stitch in the row
