2022 Crochet Blanket - free crochet pattern - Crochet Cloudberry

Adventures with Crochet

Hello again! We took a little break from our 2022 crochet blanket last week as I was away on at the wonderful St. Abbs Head lighthouse. Such a beautiful spot to spend the week. We thought that we would do a good few trips out, but once we got to the lighthouse it was just so beautiful that we decided the time was best spent doing walks locally and looking out to sea in the pretence of reading or crocheting. I did manage to do some crochet while there and it felt so adventurous to be crocheting while watching  and listening to the waves in the sea.

Now, that I am back it is time for a double whammy of the 2022 blanket. Hope that you enjoy.

This week, we are straightening the edges around the dahlias and adding some colour pops. At this stage your blanket should be measuring just shy of a meter square. The dahlias should be pushing out from the blanket to give it a 3D effect, though you may need to block the corners.

Pattern notes

The pattern is written using UK terminology, for a conversion chart to US terminology click this link

The blanket is worked in the round. You do not need to turn your work after each row and you continue working in the same direction as before.

[Stitches written in brackets like this are all worked into the same stitch.]

For the first stitch on each row: Chain 1 to move up to the next round if the round starts with double crochet. Chain 2 if the round starts with a half treble crochet, and chain 3 if the round starts with a treble crochet. These chains count as the first stitch in the row
