January Square
Hello dear crochet friends! January, and with it January weather, is definitely here. It’s very chilly in my little part of the world so I am very much in the mood to start making a new blanket. The 2023 crochet blanket is going to be made of 24 granny squares, with a design for each month of the year.
I have been having a lot of fun playing with the different colours of yarns and designing a simple square that shows off the colours. I hope this little square will help you fight the January blues.
Size approx. 9 inch x 9 inch (22.5 cm)

When blocked, this square should measure 25cm x 25cm. I generally have a loose tension so if you generally have a tight tension, it may be worth moving up a hook size (or two).
If you have loose tension when chaining, you may find the 2 ch in the corners is enough to create the corner shape.
For the 2023 blanket, you should make two of these squares.

Pattern notes
The pattern is written using UK terminology, for a conversion chart to US terminology click this link.
The squares are worked in the round. You do not need to turn your work after each row and you continue working in the same direction as before.
[Stitches written in brackets like this are all worked into the same stitch.]
For the first stitch on each row: Chain 1 to move up to the next round if the round starts with double crochet. Chain 2 if the round starts with a half treble crochet, and chain 3 if the round starts with a treble crochet. These chains count as the first stitch in the row

I was wondering if there is a free code for this so that you can have it in your Raverly library?
Thanks
