Wow, I cannot believe we have got to week 40 of the 2021 blanket – it is frightening how time flies. And I have to say I am already rather impressed by the size (and also the weight) of our 2021 blanket. I have just added a simple row this week in preparation for something more exciting next week. I have also been busy starting to make some Christmas presents, like this hat using my Easy Cable Hat pattern. I am trying to get plenty done in good time so that there is not a frantic rush in December again, but I think we will see how that goes…. How about you, are already busy with Christmas stuff?
This week, we are adding a simple blue row of dc to accentuate the star stitch

The blanket is worked in the round. You do not need to turn your work after each row and you continue working in the same direction as before.
[Stitches written in brackets like this are all worked into the same stitch.]
For the first stitch on each row: Chain 1 to move up to the next round if the round starts with double crochet. Chain 2 if the round starts with a half treble crochet, and chain 3 if the round starts with a treble crochet. These chains count as the first stitch in the row
Special stitches

Row 9 Use Ocean With the right side of the blanket facing up, start on the left side of any corner. Attach yarn with slip stitch into the stitch that is 1 up from the top of the last row.
