Fox Christmas Ornament Crochet Pattern

Silver Tip the Fox

Crocheting for Christmas is one of my favourite things (just in case you hadn’t already guessed) and this year, I have also been busy making ornaments. I love the woodland style that has become popular in recent years and our tree, when not being attacked by the cat, has many a woodland creature sitting in its branches.

And so came the inspiration for this little chap – Silver Tip the fox.  A sweet little woodland animal that is made around two foam balls so that he keeps his shape perfectly. It also has the advantage that the front and the back of the balls are made separately meaning that there is no ugly back side, which is perfect for an ornament that dangles on the tree.

Of course, he would not live up to his name if his tale did not indeed have a silver tip to add that festive sparkle. I used rico ricorumi lame in silver, which really glitters in the fairy lights. The rest of him is made using ricorumi dk cotton in nude and in white,  but there are so many fox colours, I am going to be experimenting with other combinations.
