Halloween crochet? They are not two words that you often see together but I don’t think that there is any season or festival that goes by that is not enhanced by crochet in some way. And Halloween is no different. So to celebrate, I wanted to make a crochet gnome witch that you can stand by your jack’o latern (or your pumpkin cork gnome) and scare off any evil spirits. Although I think she is too cute to be really frightening.
Cork (approx 4.5 cm tall and 3 cm wide) – If you don’t have a spare cork lying around you can buy a pack of recycled corks or make this cute little amigurumi cork.
You can purchase yarn and accessories at lovecrochet. (Using these links does not cost you any extra but I will earn a small commission that will help me keep posting free patterns).
Hair Using Kiwi. Cut 6 lengths of approx. 20 cm. Tie a knot in the centre. Then make a plait on each side of the knot and tie the plaits at the end with a small piece of black yarn. Trim the ends of the hair so it looks neat. You can then either simply place the hair on the top of the cork and put the hat on top (the hat will keep the hair in place). Or you could use black yarn to sew the hair in place on the inside of the hat. Congratulations, you have crocheted your witch gnome.
As with all myfree patternsplease feel free to make and sell the crochet items, however, please credit me as the designer where possible and do not sell the pattern itself.
