The peak is worked back and forth in row. At the end of each row, chain 1 to turn and move to next row. This chain does not count as a stitch.
Foundation Row: Chain 2.
Row 1: [2dc] in second chain from hook. (2)
Row 2: 2dc. (2)
Row 3: [2dc], [2dc]. (4)
Row 4: 4dc. (4)
Row 5: [2dc], 2dc, [2dc]. (6)
Row 6: [2dc], 1dc, [2dc], [2dc], 1dc, [2dc]. (10)
Row 7: [2dc], 3dc, [2dc], [2dc], 3dc, [2dc]. (14)
Row 8: [2dc], 5dc, [2dc], [2dc], 5dc, [2dc]. (18)
Row 9: [3dc], 16dc, [3dc]. (22)
Row 10: [3dc], 9dc, [2dc], [2dc], 9dc, [3dc]. (28)
Fasten off leaving a long tail to sew the peak on to the head later.

Thank you Loni, I did think about black but thought that it might be a bit harsh and the pengiuns I have seen (in the aquarium) had a slight blue tinge to them. Cat xxx
